Pay the DJ

I’m always asked the “How much do you charge” question.

Its a reasonable question but I find the answer is often met with “but my mate can do it for 100 bucks” or something similar.

I can also do it with my iPod and boom box for 100 bucks but that’s a juke box really not a DJ!

This DJ is committed and strong enough to say no to “pay to play” requests that come from event organizers. I am also committed to creating a worthwhile experience for you and your guests. I have spent …years practising and evolving my art as a DJ. I will be the first to arrive and I will have over 10 thousand dollars worth of equipment that I will bring with me and gladly set it up and take the time to get the sound quality perfect for your venue and audience. I will set up effects lighting, lasers and smoke machines to make the atmosphere exactly as you like. I will then be on my feet for the entire night creating the perfect blend of background, theme, pop, rock or dance music that will keep your event pumping.

Once your event is over and the people are all pumped and talking about what an amazing night they have had I will start to break down the equipment and load it back onto the van ready for the next party or event that I can’t wait to get to. This isn’t a whinge or a moan, I love what I do, I love music and I love watching people have a great night and enjoy themselves on the dance floor. This is something for you to think about before you tell me that your mate or somebody else can do it for 100 bucks. These mates or friends are not sticking to an industry standard minimum gig fee and are instead selling below the competitors price. These so called DJs are effectively shooting the whole industry in the foot.
